Lucy loves bath time...she kicks and splashes around and I swear, I can tell she's trying to soak mommy! And I can see it in her eyes that she thinks she's soooo funny when she gets mommy's clothes all wet! When I wash her hair in the sink, she leans back and closes her eyes...totally relaxing, loving the warm water and having her head rubbed!
We bought a baby pool and splashed around a few times in the backyard and she seemed to really enjoy that, too...but I've been longing to try her in a "big" pool...and I know she's been itching to really swim, too!
We finally had our chance...we were going to go to Brookwood on Sunday to celebrate my aunt's birthday and hang with family...and swim in a big pool!
The weather men tried to stop us with their gloomy weather report but though it was overcast, it wasn't raining late Sunday morning...we got out all of our beach towels and pool toys and packed them up...I put on my swimsuit and packed Lucy's...we were so exited!
We get to the pool and are greeted by a sign telling us...no swimming allowed. In the previous night's storms, the pump went out and the pool lost a fair amount of water...they were pumping water into the pool but it was going to be at least a couple more hours before it was back up to the appropriate level...while we all talked about what we should do, it started to drizzle...looks like Lucy girl's gonna have to wait until next year to perfect her back flip...
By the next day, the last day the pool was open this season, the temperature had taken such a nose dive that Lucy may as well trade her swimsuit in for a snowsuit...brr!
Happy Labor Day!
