Happy Easter!

(These posts will be a little bit out of order...bear with me...Easter before birthday and 2 year old stats but they're coming!)

We colored Easter eggs at home one night last week, and Lucy got pretty into it!  She cracked every single egg she was given...but she had a great time.  I can remember, as a kid, going to church on Easter with dyed hands but the good folks at Paas (or, in our case, Dudley - because they had a Disney Princess kit) seem to have made some improvements because her hands were quite colorful at the end of egg dying but were back to normal by bedtime that night!  I wiped them with a baby wipe before she made her escape from her high chair, Dave wiped them with a wet washcloth later after a snack and then she took a bath and was dye-free!

On Friday night, we went to GranJan and Grandpa's house to color eggs with them and the Hicks family.  After that, GranJan decided to have an egg hunt for Lucy and Cleo (though Lucy didn't let Cleo find any eggs) and she thought that was pretty awesome.

The following day, we went to the library for another egg hunt and Lucy was loving life.  When we got there, we saw there were quite a few others there waiting for the egg hunt to begin as well...the librarians mentioned that there were two "grand prize" eggs to be found but didn't mention how many eggs each hunter could find.  I was worried that some kids might not get any eggs.  I didn't have anything to worry about.  There were lots and lots and lots of eggs!

She found several eggs but when one popped open and she discovered there was candy inside...well, let's just say her hunting was over!  She was 100% focused on unwrapping and eating that candy!

The hunt was at 1pm...which was basically nap time.  So straight from the hunt, she got into her stroller and she and I went for a "nap walk" while Dave went back home for a bit.  She loves stroller naps!  She and I walked for about an hour and ended up at Friendship Park, just as we had the day before.  This time, Daddy met us there to play.
Egg hunting wears a girl out!

Fun at the park!

"Me hangin' upside down!"

There was a baby at the park.  He was laying on a blanket drinking a bottle.  Lucy and daddy talked a lot about the baby and what he was doing; she was very interested.  As soon as we got home, she wanted to roll around on a blanket and drink a bottle!  She found the blanket and asked for help laying it out and found one of her baby's bottles to drink...she's wacky!

Soon she needed a real drink, though, and wanted to drink my water...
she's getting pretty good at it!

On Easter morning, when she woke up, we told her that the Easter bunny had come!  We had talked about this a lot in days prior and we were speaking excitedly...but Lucy was looking nervous.  She did not want to search for her basket, which the bunny had hidden, she did not want to help us search for our baskets and she did not want to search for eggs - even though we kept mentioning treats that the bunny may have left us...I could tell she was on the verge of losing it - until I said, "The Easter bunny isn't here anymore!  He came and hid treats for us and hid our eggs but then he had to go home"  and that was all it took!  Reassurance that there wasn't a creepy bunny lurking around the corner and she was off!  She found daddy's basket under her pink table!

Her basket was found in the closet!

"Should I get it out?"

When she woke up that morning, she found her snow boots and wanted them on for some reason...they made for a pretty cute and hilarious pj accessory.  She had so much fun finding eggs in the basement and yelled "M&Ms!" when she opened an egg to find an M!

After the egg hunt, it was time to get ready for our busy day.  First we went to church with Great Grandma Herman and then to Grandma and Troy's house.  After that we went to Great Aunt Beth's house for Stallkamp Easter, then Granny and Grandpa's house for another egg hunt and dinner.  Last but not least, we stopped at Grandma and Grandpa's house...fun Easter!
Super cute Easter outfit!  Snagged at a yard sale by GranJan...shoes on loan from RC!

We sang "Happy Birthday" to all of the March babies at Aunt Beth's house -
Great Grandma (25), Lucy (25), baby Rachel (26) and Auntie Ema (8)
Lucy really loves "Happy Birthday" - and cupcakes, too!

Egg hunting with two good buddies!
