Recently she started waving more and is pretty much obsessed with doing so...she waves constantly at everyone and everything!
Her favorite thing to do right now is to watch her Signing Time disc and she LOVES the "Signing Time with Alex and Leah" song at the beginning of it. She now knows how to say Alex and Leah in sign language and uses this knowledge to insist we turn the DVD on...sometimes she'll let it play and watch it but frequently, she signs "more" indicating that she wants us to replay the opening song...again and again! The song is about 2-3 minutes long and there is a lady (Leah's mom) signing and singing and Lucy is starting to pick up the signs of the song!
New signs Lucy can do:
Please, Share, Your Turn, My Turn, Thank you (she knows these from the video and a "Magic Words" song that goes with them and has started using please and thank you at appropriate times when prompted but we're not so sure she really knows what these actually mean yet)
Friend
Wash hands (another obsession...she loves washing her hands and whenever she sees me washing mine, she neeeeeeeds to wash hers, too)
Lucy starts at her new babysitter's house on Monday and she has an 8 month old son, Cooper. She also occasionally watches a set of 2 year old twins in the late afternoons so Lucy will soon be getting a chance to really learn her newest signs - share, your turn, my turn! We're very excited that she'll be around other kids on a daily basis.
I actually only took a few pictures of Lucy yesterday and sadly, this is the best one:
16 months old! |
A couple of nights ago, Lucy and I hung out together while daddy had some free time. We went to the library and checked out two books, including a new Llama book that we don't have yet!
After the library, we went to Subway to eat dinner. I saw a stack of high chairs, but also spotted this booster and decided what the hey...I knew she'd get a kick out of it and think she was hot stuff (I was right about that):
Best friends! |
I'm very sad to learn that I will no longer be watching Lucy by reading this blog post. I will miss her greatly. :(
