Today is cousin Alli's 4th birthday...happy birthday!
Her party was this past Sunday at the Highland Heights city park and when we got there, it was beautiful and sunny. As we were walking in, though, I realized we'd come sans gift...crud! It was still sitting on the kitchen counter! So I left Lucy and her daddy and went home (luckily, just across the street!) to get it...by the time I got back, the sky was looking mighty dark...
Poor Aunt Jessi thought the party was ruined...but the girls were intrigued...a little rain certainly didn't keep them down!
It was a pretty serious downpour and most everyone was huddled close to the center of the shelter because it was blowing in the sides. Lucy, however, needed to feel the rain!
Soon, the temptation was too great for both girls (and several other little ones) and they had to head out...
By the time Alli opened all of her gifts and we sang Happy Birthday to her, the rain had almost slowed to a stop (plus my crazy kid was already pretty darn wet) and play time resumed!

Then they went down the slide (repeatedly!) with Aunt Amy:
Aunt Amy was a really good sport - helping Lucy up the steps and around the bend and down the slide, time and time again - but she later asked me, "Doesn't your back hurt after playing with her for awhile?" Um, yeah!
Lucy had some fun under the shelter, too, with Daddy, Grandpa, and Aunt Amy's dog, Lola:
