Loving life

After a day of fun with Tracey, I picked Lucy up and she and I stopped at Kroger.  We only needed milk (though, of  course, we left with more than just a gallon of milk) so I grabbed a basket instead of a cart and let her walk (run) instead of being strapped in.  She loved it!  I didn't get any pics of her in action at the grocery store because I kind of had my hands full keeping up with her...
We got some fruit pouches for her and some popcorn chicken to share for dinner, grabbed the milk and we were finally out of there...time to go home and eat dinner!
She loved dipping her chicken in ketchup!  We sent a pic to daddy and he said, "All kids love ketchup!" and while this is probably true, it seems so much cuter and funnier watching MY kid scoop up a fist full of ketchup when I am too slow at putting chicken on her plate and sucking it off her hand...she really enjoyed dinner last night!

Once we'd finished dinner and cleaned as much ketchup off as we could, it was time to play outside - just asking, "Do you want to go outside to play?" produces a hyperventilating-like excitement from her...

Kicking the ball!
We brought a couple of things out with us to play with - one of the balls we stole from Uncle Jason & Uncle Jeff's graduation party, and her walking toy Great Granny gave her for Christmas:
She loves this thing!

Daddy once taught her to pick up sticks in the backyard and throw them over the back fence...she has since become obsessed with this task and remembers to do so each time we are in the backyard.  She takes her job very seriously but sometimes gets confused - she picked up some sticks and walked to the side fence, intending to throw them into the neighbor's yard!

This outfit was a bday gift from daddy's friend, Paul...too cute!
Lucy loves playing on her swing set so much...the steps are ladder style and while she still struggles slightly with them, she is really getting the hang of them and I think she'll have them mastered within a couple of weeks.

One of her favorite things to do is to go down the slide backwards on her belly - I tried several times to get a photo of this because she has such a huge smile on her face as she slides down, but I never managed to capture it.

She continues to love her babies and still says and signs "baby" hundreds of times a day...she likes to put her babies in the car seat, in her car, in her swing...anywhere...and she likes to cover them with her blanket.  She's very sweet to them!
She has recently learned the sign for "bird" and we like to "bird watch" when we're playing outside.  She loves to eat bread and I always tell her she's just like a little birdie.
Another favorite of hers is sitting on a step.  She carries her baby or other toys to the bottom step in our dining room and just sits there.  We also have a step-stool in the kitchen which has become another favorite place for her to sit.

Lucy now has 8 teeth and the top ones really make me laugh...when she smiles, you can't see the two in front but you can see the other two - her "fangs" - hanging down!

She's looking forward to the rest of this week -
Tomorrow she'll be spending the day with Grandma Kathy and on Thursday, she'll be playing with GranJan.  And on Friday night she's going to the Prom!!!  Then Saturday is the Derby / B's birthday party...busy girl!
